So, what a cool guy!! Backyard Denim spent the afternoon with Daniel at London Cloth. He's so interesting and passionate, it's impossible not to get caught up in his enthusiasm. What he's doing from his micro mill in East London is fascinating!
Looking around his mill, learning a little more about weaving, meeting the mill cat, and discussing the potential for a unique "Backyard" cloth... a very exciting prospect!
Check him out at http://londonclothcompany.wix.com/londonclothcompany and on facebook for dozens of images from the mill.
Thanks for an inspiring afternoon Daniel. Really looking forward to working on a new cloth with you!
Cup: Tara Ireland. Beans: Sumatra Mandheling. Great start to an exciting Friday! I hope you all have a good one too!
As appealing as a fatty lunch might be on a cold day, it was this Backyard Denim combo that really hit the "need-for-greenery" spot today. Fresh vege, Greek olive oil & Japanese soy sauce. Superb!
Afternoon all! Thanks for checking in on Backyard Denim.
It's been a while since I posted anything from the Backyard Denim studio, so here goes... Mostly it's a visual diary of the new belts going together.
Please follow this link for more photographs of the finished belts.

I hope you're keeping warm and having an amazing weekend! Reid.
Found this image today while having a tidy up. Good memories of a childhood spent outdoors playing cricket and football in the backyard. Also a part of the development of the Backyard Denim logo that I really enjoyed. The original photograph features on my website too.
Sometimes, all you need is a walk in the rain to clear your head. A break from the studio, a break from sewing, a break from the indoors generally. I used to hate the rain, but why not embrace it instead? You can't stop it, change it, or make it go away. I read a quote on Twitter today. "If you look at something long enough, it could change." Maybe we don't have to wait, if we can just change our own perspective. Merry Christmas everyone! Reid.
Brilliant coverage for Backyard Denim on The Milltown.
"The Milltown is the project of Dave & Joe; two friends obsessed with menswear. We don’t believe in following trends, we believe in brands with a strong heritage and clothing that was originally made for a purpose. We are passionate about fabrics, craftsmanship, and all the little details that are often overlooked and undervalued."
"As a result, the tote bags really stand out and are incomparable with anything else we have come across. The leather wallets (featured below) are also rather special - handmade in London, and stitched completely by hand. What's not to like?"
